Law & Order: SVU (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) is an American police procedural television series that follows the lives of the detectives of the Special Victims Unit in a fictional version of the 16th Precinct of the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Stars Christopher Meloni, Mariska Hargitay, Richard Belzer, Dann Florek, Michelle Hurd, Stephanie March, Ice-T, B. D. Wong, Diane Neal, Tamara Tunie, Adam Beach, and Michaela McManus. In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous.
