Derek series is a one-off comedy drama about a group of people on society’s margins. Ricky Gervais writes, directs and stars in the series. Derek works in a retirement home with his landlord Dougie. He adores animals, Rolf Harris and TV, but his main hobby is autograph-hunting. With Kerry Godliman and Karl Pilkington in his debut acting role. Derek is a loyal nursing home caretaker who sees only the good in his quirky co-workers as they struggle against prejudice and shrinking budgets to care for their elderly residents.
